Hamburg based DJ and producer Christopher Rau has found the formula to distill depth and meditative strength from repetitive patterns. Ever since his first official release on his own Derivé Records, Ne Travaillez Jamais, Christopher Rau has proved to have some merit with mesmerizing loops and calming layers. His two full-length albums on Hamburg's infamous Smallville imprint followed the paths he paved for himself with sophisticated house and dubbed-out techno leanings. With applauded releases on labels like Pampa, Hypercolour, Laid and Mule Musiq, as well as his Roaming project alongside Moomin, the future looks bright for him.
